Rainbow Starlight Games was a different kind of creative challenge entirely. Two tabletop games, two very distinct visual worlds, and a process that required as much problem-solving as it did illustration.

For As You Love It, my first project with the studio, I worked from the creative director's existing designs, refining and elevating them into polished illustrated scenes and card layouts that brought the game's world to life with consistency and care.

Bone Strike pushed things further. The aesthetic called for something in the vein of Frank Frazetta's iconic fantasy art, bold, visceral, and mythic, while still leaving room for my own voice. The process was unconventional: I first built ancient-civilization environments in 3D in Maya as accurate perspective foundations, then illustrated over them to create the detailed card scenes. Character direction came in the form of extremely rough sketches from the creative director, which I used as a conceptual springboard to develop fully realized figures and compositions that captured the intended vision in a way the original sketches could not. Learning to translate someone else's raw, underdeveloped idea into something genuinely compelling turned out to be one of the most valuable creative skills I've built.

Beyond these two titles, I also designed sell sheets and packaging for all four of the games in development at the studio, handling the full production design pipeline from concept through print-ready delivery.
