MJ Biz Con Booth + Swag Design

The Brief

MJBizCon in Las Vegas is the cannabis industry's biggest annual trade event, drawing hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of attendees from across the country. For Creative Cannabis Promotions, a boutique agency specializing in branding and promotional products for cannabis clients, it was the most important business development opportunity of the year. The goal was simple and ambitious at the same time: show up so well that people couldn't walk past without stopping, and leave with a roster of new clients who understood exactly what we were capable of.

That year, the CEO and I landed on a Tiki theme, and we committed to it completely.

The Challenge

A themed trade show booth only works if the theme is executed with total conviction across every single touchpoint. A half-finished concept reads as cheap. The challenge was to design an entire branded world from scratch, one that was cohesive, high energy, and memorable enough to stand out in a sea of hundreds of competing booths, all while balancing production specifications, vendor requirements, Pantone matching, and a real budget.

What I did

Starting with rough concept sketches in Photoshop, I developed the full Tiki visual language and then translated everything into production-ready vector artwork in Adobe Illustrator, Pantone-matched and laid out to the exact specifications of each individual item.

The scope covered everything: the booth backdrop, table covers, and signage to anchor the space, free giveaway swag including enamel pins, chapsticks, and bandanas to pull people in, premium swag for serious prospects including water bottles, hats, and tees, and team uniforms consisting of custom Hawaiian shirts, branded face masks, and hats to make the whole crew part of the display. I also produced a looping video reel in Adobe Premiere Pro showcasing the agency's best work from previous campaigns, giving visitors a live demo of what Creative Cannabis Promotions could actually deliver for their brand.

Every piece, from the largest backdrop to the smallest pin, lived in the same visual world.

The Result

The booth was a genuine hit. Attendees kept coming back throughout the event, and multiple people cited it as one of their favorite booths at the entire convention. In a show with hundreds of exhibitors competing for the same attention, that kind of word-of-mouth is the best possible outcome. The event generated significant new client leads and measurably raised the agency's profile within the cannabis industry. Not bad for a Tiki bar in a convention center in Las Vegas.
